Understanding Halal
The Arabic word 'halal' means 'permissible.' In the context of food, it refers to items that are allowed under Islamic dietary law. Halal food must be free from pork, alcohol, and any ingredients derived from prohibited animals. Meat must come from animals slaughtered in the name of God, with a swift cut to the throat that ensures the animal's blood is fully drained.
Our Standards
Our halal commitment extends beyond meat. We do not serve alcohol. We do not use any pork-derived ingredients (including gelatin or lard). Our cooking oils are vegetable-based. Our kitchen and preparation areas are dedicated halal facilities. When you eat at Istanbul Mediterranean, you eat with confidence.
